Director, artist and developer Scott Peterman's work spans the fields of advertising, experience design, product development, and theater. He regularly leads teams of hundreds of expert craftspeople to create never before seen experiences.
As Show Director and Creative Director, Scott partners with the biggest brands on the planet. Recent highlights include 50-foot wide interactive video shoeboxes for Nike, building-scale projected narratives for the NFL, pop-up concert experiences for Target, and writing and directing groundbreaking Upfront presentations that redefine the mold for Univision and Turner. Scott also has the distinct pleasure of bringing his narrative and aesthetic sensibilities to some of the most exciting rock and roll acts including numerous tours for Bon Jovi and the personal career highlight of working with William P. Corgan to launch Smashing Pumpkins’ recent international reunion tour. His favorite role each year is that of Show Director for Robin Hood’s yearly benefit, one of the biggest charity events of the year that features a diverse talent lineup that has included Oprah Winfrey, John McEnroe, Michelle Williams, Dave Chappelle, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Jennifer Lopez.
As a fine artist, Scott has created commissioned pieces as diverse as low-cost, open-source graffiti robots; interactive oversized guitar knobs; gardens embedded with technology that allow plants to converse with guests; parties where every surface changes color in the presence of human contact; and a wide range of DIY musical instruments. His play Sailor Man won Best Play at the NY International Fringe Festival and ran for numerous years Off-Broadway, and he recently produced and co-created the interactive performance piece Indigo Grey as part of the Nokia Bell Labs Artist Residency in collaboration with the avant-garde dance troupe Hammerstep.
Scott often serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Parsons MFA in Design and Technology program and has led workshops on wearable technology, game design, narrative development and design theory at Parsons, ENSAD, Aalto University, The University of Borås, and more.
Scott is available as a freelance Executive Creative Director, Innovation Consultant, Show Director, and Scriptwriter (along with partner Cat Davis) on projects of all shapes and size; he enjoys everything from working directly with brands to develop experiential strategy to leading teams of hundreds of collaborators to bring massive installations to life.
