The Pearl

Architectural Icon
Client:
Royal Caribbean
Date:    2026
Role:    Executive Creative Director, Lead Artist

Royal Caribbean came to my company Brilliant Work to fundamentally reinvent the experience of the Pearl, an architectural marvel that holds up three stories of the flagship Icon class of ships, allowing unprecedented floor to ceiling windows in the central atrium of the largest passenger ships on Earth.

We went with a vision straight out of one of my dreams - over six hundred mirrored prisms, each backed by high-resolution LED screens that can play vibrant colors and content, creating trippy three-dimensional shapes to match any mood.

The reinvented Pearl rapidly became the heart of the guest experience on the ship, serving as a backdrop for parades and dance parties and charting the vibe of every stage of a seven-day sailing, with hundreds of individual looks to fit any mood.

My team oversaw the entire nearly three-year process, from initial concept design through engineering and installation up through content creation and audio-visual programming.
